Printed Door Opener to Help Against the Spread of Coronavirus

iMaterialise team designed with easy installation in mind. Their easy-to-use opener doesn’t require drilling holes or replacing your door’s handle. Setting it up is simple: all you have to do is fasten two 3D-printed pieces together with four screws over your existing handle. Currently, this model is fit for cylindrical handles between 18 and 22 mm, with additional designs to come soon.

The power of 3D printing enables our engineers to quickly create solutions for the unexpected. Within 24 hours, our team was able to create, test, and validate this hands-free door opener because of the flexibility and freedom of design through 3D printing.

If you know how to design for 3D printing and would like to adapt our file to fit over other door handle types, we encourage you to create your own and share with the world.
