### #Hyperboloid Pencil Holder / Cable Organizer

The hyperboloid is an amazingly simple yet rich mathematical object. The basic idea is so easy to demonstrate to school students using a few pencils or a cuboid (see my other designs). In this design, I wanted to highlight the symmetry and playfulness of a hyperboloid in a pencil holder, which can also be used as cable organizer, just for the fun of it. It holds 10 school pencils (up to 8.5mm in diameter). The hyperboloid is designed to allow pencils to move freely so students can play with it.

A stand can be used to keep the pencils from falling out if so desired. You could even glue it to the hyperboloid with a drop of super glue. Alternatively, you could just print one with a solid bottom.

It is about 76 mm tall and 74 mm wide at the top and the bottom. It can be stopped anywhere during the printing process for a partial yet functional pencil holder, if you like.
