Raspberry Pi in the Sky (Drone Mount Raspberry Pi Zero W)

3D model description

I wanted a way to take pictures straight downward from my Hubsan, so I made this little carriage for a raspberry pi zero w. I mounted it to my drone with 3m heavy duty mounting tape. I've included a systemd service file and a script I use to take pictures.

I used a couple m2 screws to mount the camera module to the pi with the plate included in this. You can use a soldering iron to smash down the pegs to mount the camera plate to the pi's mounting holes.

The script and file need to be put to the following paths on raspian:

/opt/DCIM/camerad.sh
/etc/systemd/system/camerad.service

Then run this to have it start taking pictures on boot.
sudo systemctl enable camerad

I used a LiPo charging circuit from an old phone booster. The 5v out from the booster board is soldered to the raspberry pi's 5v and ground GPIO pins.

With a cheap 350mAh battery I was able to get 1 hour and 25 minutes of pictures.
