Overheating Protection for Smartphone

For longer bike rides, I usually have my warbiking equipment installed on the bike.

The Kismet server runs on a RasPi3. A smartphone is used for navigation and as a GUI for the RasPi3. Smartphone and RasPi3 communicate via USB tethering - as a side effect, the smartphone is constantly charged.
And this has become more of a problem on warm days, because the smartphone is in a weatherproof holder and -thereby- not sufficiently cooled.

Now, with my new thing, I am hopeful that the smartphone will no longer report battery overheating messages.
