JTW HCC-2A (An Open-Source Hi-CAPA Carbine Kit)

3D model description

Please read the F.A.Q. down below if you have any questions! Most of the things I've been asked repeatedly about this kit have already been answered!

==DISCLAIMER==

This is a Carbine Conversion Kit for AIRSOFT TOYS and cannot be modified, manipulated, or converted for use with a firearm. It cannot be modified, manipulated, or converted to discharge firearm ammunition.

This kit was designed for the dimensions of a Tokyo Marui Hi-CAPA 5.1. It will not fit other sizes of Hi-CAPA (4.3, 7.1, etc). It may also have fitment issues with non-TM branded or aftermarket upgraded models. Please read the Print Settings section for details.

==CONCEPT==

The JTW HCC-2A is the evolution of the Hi-CAPA Carbine Version 1 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3555822). The idea of this project is to create an open-source Hi-Capa 5.1-compatible carbine kit for airsoft gas pistols, as there are no open source projects like this elsewhere currently. When I say open source, I MEAN open source – want to print your own? The files are and will forever be COMPLETELY FREE. Want to print some to sell? You’re absolutely allowed to – with personalization/customization/other modifications as well – if you link back to this Thingiverse post in your ad listing!

The HCC-2A has been tested for functionality but needs testing out in the field. If you use one, let me know what you think! What could be improved? Anything added? If you have any suggestions for new features, or ways to improve the existing features, let me know! If your idea is added to the kit in some way, I’ll credit your contribution!

==PP/ASSEMBLY==

Material: PLA/PETG/etc
Resolution: 0.2mm
Walls: 3 (1.5mm)
Infill: 30% (Cubic)

PLEASE print Rail_Slot_Test.stl FIRST and ensure they fit properly on your Hi-CAPA!

There are many parts to this project, so please watch the assembly guide. This kit requires having a Tokyo Marui or derivative Hi-Capa 5.1 with the accessory rail. It will NOT work without the accessory rail!

The entire kit is able to be printed without concern using PLA. If you really want to use a different, stronger material for specific parts, consider printing the Optic Rail, Grip Rail, Action Camera Mount, Charging Handle, and Stock Tang out of PETG or Nylon, as these parts support most of the strain and tension on the kit.

==FUTURE PLANS==

-Forward magazine holder and grip (active retention)
-Original folding/collapsing stock design
-Original thumbhole stock design

==F.A.Q.==

Q: What kind of Hi-CAPA will this fit?
A: This kit will ONLY fit standard 5.1 Hi-CAPA bodies – 7.1 Hi-CAPAs are too long to mount properly, 4.3 Hi-CAPAs will not interact with the charging handle properly, and 1911/MEU style airsoft pistols are entirely not compatible (the dust cover sits too low on them with the rail installed). It is 100% compatible with Tokyo Marui 5.1 Hi-CAPAs, and therefore should also fit other standard-style 5.1 Hi-CAPAs.

Q: Can you make this smaller, so it prints on my printer?
A: Sorry, no. I’ve engineered the kit around a 300mm-class printer (which was already very limiting as I have a 500mm-class printer). However, you should check the remixes! Someone may have already split the bigger pieces up!

Q: Can I print and sell this kit, iterate on it, and make accessories for it?
A: Yes! This kit is completely open-source. If you want to republish the kit files or sell printed parts, please credit me as the creator and link back to this upload!

Q: If I sell prints of this kit, can I remove the markings you’ve put on it?
A: I would really prefer you don’t as I worked VERY hard on this project.

Q: Can I buy a carbine kit from you?
A: Yes! I am offering these on a made-to-order basis for $8. each before shipping. I am only selling the kits within the continental United States. Turnaround time is 2-3 weeks. Contact jokertoolworks@gmail.com to discuss details and pricing. Additionally, there are various print services you can have print a file for you (though this may cost substantially more).

Q: Can you please customize this one specific part of the files for me?
A: Sorry, but I’m trying to move on from this project (I’ve been working on it for a very long time!). If you’d like to commission me to make or modify a custom part for you, contact me at jokertoolworks@gmail.com to discuss details and pricing.
