This item is intended to solve a familiar problem for anyone who uses small bottles of paint, glue, or other volatile or messy liquids; i.e. to provide a solid support for these bottles so the danger of tipping when using a brush, toothpick, eyedropper, etc. is greatly decreased. These holders also have small vertical supports around the edge for small items.

Since the design is parametric it can easily be customized for pretty much any sized bottle that will fit your printer's bed. The design is optimized to use as little plastic as possible while still providing a solid support.

3D printing settings

For those who use American sized bottles, three different .stl files are provided that match the 1/2, 1, and 2 ounce bottles used for Floquil and Testors paint and Plastruct cements. Of course these files should work for any similar or slightly smaller bottles. Diameters are as follows:

1/2 ounce size: ~32.5 mm
1 ounce size: ~36.5 mm
2 ounce size: ~41 mm

A large oval flask holder stl file is also supplied. This was designed for an 8 ounce bottle about 45 x 65 mm, but might work for other oval bottles.

If you need a different size you'll need to modify the OpenSCAD file by changing the relevant variables and exporting a new .SIL file. In most cases this is very simple, only the bottle diameter and height values normally would need changing for round bottles.

The parameters allow for other variations: oval bottles can be accommodated, and the number and size of the small brush holders around the perimeter of the base can be altered. Details on the variables for these possibilities are in the .scad files.
