King Arthur and His Knights - Monty Python and the Holy Grail

3D model description

Run away! Run away!

Recently I ran across Terry Gilliam's daughter Holly's blog, where she was posting artwork and other mementos of her father's career (that's a lot of 's's).

One of my favorite memories is my brother taking me to see Holy Grail at the Esquire Theater in Dallas. Quite the experience, there was even a Trojan Rabbit out front.

This is a model of King Arthur and his Knights based on artwork posted on the above blog.

3D printing settings

Knights.stl - Black, change to white at 0.5 mm, 0.1 mm layers.

That's it.

This model takes a bit of post process decorating. Sharpies are completely appropriate, it gives a very similar appearance to the original artwork (looks like water colors).

If you have a very fine black Sharpie, you may want to add a bit to the black features on the face. Some of the lines were a little too narrow and were lost during modeling and slicing.

A finer nozzle or a larger format would allow more detail, but I try to stick with 0.4 mm nozzle and under 200 mm square in case anyone wants to try it too.
