My daughter drew these cute designs for use as pieces for a board game for a school project: cat, lion, mouse, serpent, fox and pig. I printed them with the solid base in transparent filament and then switched to a black filament for the lines.
One can also use them as stamps (glue them to a block of wood or print one of the handle files and superglue it on). I include stamp pieces with thinner bases optimized for that purpose.
Workflow for making these:
1. Hand draw with ink
2. Scan to jpg
3. Import to Inkscape and use Inkscape to trace it, and then clean it up and add a background
4. Export to OpenSCAD with this Inkscape extension (important note: use 0.01 mm precision, or else the thin lines will produce malformed polygons)
5. Tweak the OpenSCAD output (I thickened the lines)
